The questions people ask before the call.
Pricing, scope, timelines, what gets measured and what nobody can promise. Written to be read in full, with no sales script and no gated answers. If your question is not here, it belongs on a call.

Whether this is for you, and what the first step actually is.
With a diagnosis, not a deliverable. Every engagement starts with a Strategic SEO Audit that looks at search visibility, content structure, technical foundations, AI visibility and website experience together, because those fail as a system and not one at a time. You leave with a prioritised roadmap you own, whether or not the work continues.
Fit gets decided on a 30-minute call, before any proposal exists. This works well for founder-led and expert-led service businesses that sell trust, have a long buying cycle and can wait two to three months for the first movement. It works badly if you need leads this month, want guaranteed rankings, or want someone to publish volume without a strategy underneath it.
Thirty minutes, no deck and no sales script. You describe the business, what is there today and what growth would have to look like to matter. You get back what is visible from the outside, what would be looked at first, and whether the timing is right. Some calls end in a proposal. Some end with a recommendation to wait.
No. The call is free and carries no obligation. If the honest answer is that your business does not need a consultant right now, that is the answer you get on the call rather than after an invoice.
Capacity is deliberately small, because every audit and every monthly session is run by the same person. Openings are not always immediate. The realistic start date gets named on the fit call rather than promised in advance.
What Contento does
The audit, the roadmap, the partnership, and what sits outside all three.
A tailored assessment across technical SEO, content structure, keyword and demand opportunity, information architecture, metadata, internal linking, schema, AI visibility and competitor positioning. It is delivered in 20 to 30 days with a dedicated strategy session and a prioritised roadmap. It is a decision document, not a crawler export with a logo on the cover.
The audit is what is true today. The roadmap is what to do about it, in what order, and why that order. The roadmap is included in the audit and it stays yours even if the engagement ends there.
Execution, measurement and iteration around one strategy: content architecture and editorial standards, technical and schema work, AI visibility work, one strategy session a month, one report and one clear set of priorities. Scope is shaped around the business instead of sold as a tier.
Architecture, briefs, structure and editorial standards are always part of the work. Full production is scoped per engagement, because a practice with one owner and a brand with a marketing team need very different things. What does not change is that structure comes before volume.
Not as a product, and never as a bought placement. Authority work here means being genuinely citable: clear pages, real authorship, visible methodology, cases, and consistent signals across the web. Buying links is the fastest way to inherit somebody else's risk.
Yes, through the Creative Lab, in partnership with specialist collaborators for identity, rebranding and full website projects. Outside those engagements Contento operates independently on strategy, search and structure.
Paid media management, social media management, and anything that depends on promising a specific ranking or a specific answer from a specific AI assistant. Those last two are not things anyone can honestly sell, whatever the deck says.
Pricing and terms
Real numbers, published on purpose.
Strategic SEO Audits start at USD 1,500. Ongoing partnerships typically begin at USD 1,800 per month. Both are scoped to the business, the opportunity and the level of support required, so the number on your proposal is the number for your case and not a list price.
Because hiding them wastes everybody's time. A number on the page lets you decide in thirty seconds whether this conversation is worth having. A consultancy that only reveals price after three calls is usually pricing the client rather than the work.
Terms are agreed in writing before work begins. Engagements tend to run long because organic growth compounds and the first three months are the least interesting ones, not because a clause forces anyone to stay.
That is a normal and legitimate outcome. You keep the roadmap and your own team executes it. One honest audit is a better result than a retainer nobody needed.
No. A cheaper package would mean less analysis, less thinking and more template, which is the exact product this practice exists to avoid. If the budget is not there yet, the honest recommendation is usually to wait rather than to buy a smaller version of the wrong thing.
Invoiced in USD, on terms agreed in the proposal before any work starts. Retainers are invoiced a month ahead, so each month is paid before it begins. Work starts the day the payment lands in the account, not the day the invoice goes out, and every date in your proposal is counted from there. Nothing gets charged that was not named in writing first.
How we work
Who does the work, at what rhythm, and what you get to read.
Lucas. Every audit, every roadmap and every monthly session is run by the same person who took the fit call, supported by specialist collaborators when a project genuinely needs design, development or production at full strength. There is no handoff to a junior after the sale.
Three layers, built in that order. Found is whether you are discoverable across search and AI-assisted journeys. Trusted is whether humans and machines can understand your expertise, relevance and context. Chosen is whether the right audience understands why you are the right fit. The order matters, because nobody chooses you before they trust you, and most digital work fails quietly by skipping a layer.
One strategy session a month as the fixed rhythm, plus asynchronous contact in between. The point of a monthly session is that it forces a decision, not that it fills an hour.
Monthly, in plain language, written to be read by the owner rather than by another SEO. What moved, what did not, what it means and what happens next. No dashboard that nobody opens.
A deliberately small number. Capacity is the constraint that keeps the work founder-led, and it is the reason openings are not always immediate.

SEO and AI visibility
What changed, what did not, and what nobody can promise.
Whether your business shows up, accurately, when somebody asks an AI assistant a question your business should be able to answer. It rests on the same foundations classic search rests on, clear pages, real authorship, structured data and consistent signals across the web, plus being genuinely citable rather than merely present.
It is the same foundations judged by a stricter reader. An assistant does not scroll, does not forgive ambiguity and cannot infer what you meant. Pages clear enough for a model turn out to be clearer for people too, which is why this is not a separate budget line.
No, and neither can anyone else. Contento does not promise a specific ranking or a specific answer on any platform. What can be promised is the work: clearer pages, better structure, real evidence of expertise, and signals that stay consistent everywhere your business appears.
By tracking the conditions rather than a vanity position: whether your pages are crawlable and citable, whether your entity reads consistently across the web, what a prompt about your category returns today, and how that moves over time. AI visibility is assessed inside the Strategic SEO Audit.
It is changing what wins, not whether being findable matters. What is dying is the part of SEO that was about volume and manipulation. What is gaining value is evidence: real authorship, visible methodology, cases, clarity and structure. Google core updates have been pointing that way for years, and assistants only sharpen it.
Usually not. Most sites do not have a volume problem, they have a structure problem: genuine expertise buried in pages nobody can parse. Publishing more on top of a broken architecture makes the problem larger and more expensive to fix later.
Keywords are evidence of demand, not the strategy. The useful question is what decision a person is trying to make, and what would have to be on the page for them to make it. Keyword research is an input to that question, not a substitute for asking it.
Your website
Rebuilds, platforms, ownership, and the one thing that goes wrong most often.
Often no. Most sites can be made far more findable and far more persuasive without a rebuild. The audit says explicitly whether a rebuild is required or whether it would just be expensive, and a rebuild gets recommended when the structure cannot carry the strategy, not because the site looks dated.
The strategy is platform agnostic. The platform decides how a fix gets implemented, not whether it is the right fix. Where a change needs a developer, it is specified precisely enough that your developer can execute it without a second discovery process.
You do. The roadmap, the content, the structure and every recommendation are yours, during the engagement and after it. Nothing is held on an account you cannot access.
Both happen, and it is agreed in scope rather than assumed. Many fixes get implemented directly. The ones that need engineering are written as specifications, not as suggestions.
It changes the order of everything, so say it on the fit call. A migration is the single easiest way to lose years of visibility in one afternoon. It gets handled as its own scoped piece of work, with redirects, structure and measurement planned before anything moves.
Results and reporting
Timelines, what gets measured, and why client numbers stay private.
Most businesses see early technical and visibility movement within two to three months, and compounding results from month six onward. Anyone naming a faster number is either guessing or selling something other than organic growth.
You find out early, because reporting is monthly and written honestly, and the strategy session exists to change direction rather than to defend it. Organic growth is a long horizon, but a partner who cannot say that something is not working is not a partner.
Because the numbers that matter are private business figures, and publishing them, even anonymised, turns them into decoration. Two engagements are described in detail on the work page: the situation, what changed across the three layers, and what happened. The figures behind them can be discussed on a call, where the context comes with them.
A page full of logos is easy to build and tells you nothing. Most of them are pitches that never became work, trials that ended after a month, or brands borrowed from an agency. The two on the work page are engagements that actually ran.
What changes decisions. Demand capture and visibility, the quality of what arrives rather than the raw quantity, technical health, how completely your site covers the topics your business should own, and the conditions behind AI visibility. Traffic on its own is a number, not a result.
Data, privacy and legal
What is needed from you, and what happens to it.
Yes, on request. Client information is treated as confidential by default, whether or not a document says so.
Read access to your analytics and Search Console, access to the site or its CMS where implementation is part of the scope, and the context only you have. Nothing beyond what the work requires.
It is used for the engagement and nothing else. What the website itself collects, and how it is handled, is set out in the Privacy Policy and the Cookie Policy.
The fit call is the intended front door and email works too. Please do not put sensitive personal, medical or clinical information in a first message: a web form is not the right place for it, whoever the recipient is.

Nothing matches that. Try a shorter word, or book a call and ask directly.
Still not answered?
If your question is not on this page, it is probably specific to your business, which is exactly what the fit call is for. Thirty minutes, no deck.
