NYC SEO for law firms, clinics and professional practices
I help New York practices, law firms, clinics, therapists, accountants and financial advisors, get found in Google and Google Maps and named when clients ask ChatGPT or Google's AI who to call. Professional services play by stricter rules in search, so the work starts with credentials, reviews and facts that match everywhere. I am Lucas Fernández Díaz, founder of Contento. The first step is a USD 1,500 audit.

What I saw on October 15, 2026
Who wins when someone in New York searches for an SEO agency?
I ran "seo agency new york" from Manhattan. Three of the top six organic results are directories: Semrush's agency list, Clutch and The Manifest. The map shows agencies with 81 and 90 reviews. One of the agency pages in the top six has 13 words of visible text.
For a practice, the lesson is the same as for an agency: in New York, the directories of your field and your reviews do half the ranking work. A strong page without them stalls; with them, it can pass much bigger competitors on the specific searches.
Google search "seo agency new york", location New York, NY, October 15, 2026. Ads excluded.
Why practices are different
Why is SEO harder for New York law firms and medical practices?
Google calls legal, health and money topics "your money or your life". For those searches it asks for more proof that the business is real and qualified: credentials, licensing and bar listings, consistent names and addresses, real reviews, and claims a regulator would sign off on.
The AI answers work the same way. When someone asks ChatGPT for "a family lawyer in Brooklyn who speaks Spanish", it recommends practices whose facts it can confirm in several places. A beautiful site with thin, unverified information loses to a plainer one that is consistent everywhere.

Which parts of New York do I work with?
All five boroughs and the New Jersey side of the river. New York local search is block by block: the map that shows for "accountant Upper West Side" is not the one for "accountant Long Island City". I build for the neighborhoods where your clients actually are.

The work
What does SEO for a New York practice include?
Credentials that search can read
Bios, licenses, bar admissions, education and affiliations on your site, marked up so Google and the AI tools can confirm them.
One page per practice area
"Immigration lawyer Queens" and "divorce lawyer Manhattan" need different pages. One generic services page ranks for neither.
Profiles that match everywhere
Google profile, Avvo, Psychology Today, Healthgrades, Yelp and the directories of your field with the same facts.
Reviews without risk
A simple, compliant way to ask happy clients for reviews, and a calm process to answer the bad ones.

FAQ
What do New York practices ask before hiring an SEO agency?
What is the best SEO agency in New York City?
The one that shows you, in your own searches, where you stand and what will change, and that knows the rules of your field. For a practice, experience with legal or health listings and reviews matters more than size. Ask for a live check before you sign anything.
Is SEO dead now with AI?
No. AI answers are assembled from sources that already rank and are consistent across the web. For a New York practice, SEO is now the way into those answers.
How much does SEO cost in New York City?
NYC agencies quote at the top of the US range. Clutch reports retainers from USD 2,000 to 20,000 a month, around USD 3,200 on average across the US. At Contento the Strategic SEO Audit is USD 1,500 and the retainer starts at USD 1,800 a month, scoped in writing.
Do I need a specialist SEO agency for a law firm or a medical practice?
You need someone who knows the rules of your field. Legal and health searches are "your money or your life" topics for Google: credentials, reviews, bar and licensing listings and careful claims weigh more than in other industries. I have dedicated pages for law firms, therapists, accountants and financial advisors.
How do I show up in ChatGPT when someone asks for a lawyer or a doctor in New York?
The models lean on sources they trust: directories of your profession, reviews, your own site and consistent facts about you across the web. The work is making those facts complete and identical everywhere, and having pages that answer the questions clients actually ask. I measure the result monthly.
Can a small practice compete with big firms in Manhattan?
Yes, if it picks its battles. Big firms win the broad terms; a practice wins the specific ones: a practice area plus a neighborhood, a language, a type of client. Those searches convert better anyway.
Do you cover all five boroughs?
Yes, and New Jersey across the river. Brooklyn, Queens and the Bronx have their own local results; a page for Manhattan does not rank in Astoria.
You are not in New York. How does it work?
Remotely, by video. I am based in Argentina, one or two hours ahead of New York depending on the season, so we share the business day.
